The New Pool

Thanks for the article from Jermaine Haynes

We recently had our pool refinished and therefore had water put in it for the first time in about 3 years. It’s going to be so great this summer with the kids as they’re just learning to swim and I know they’ll love being out in the pool and splashing around! My only problem is that I’m really worried they’ll somehow get outside and slip into the pool since we don’t have it gated or anything, and that paralyzes me with fear. I’ve been looking on http://home-ALARm-SYstEMS.com because I figured an alarm would help me know when someone opens a door or a window and I’ve been talking to my husband about getting the girls into a professional swim class. I know they’ll be fine, I just don’t want anything to happen to them on my watch (or anyone else’s) and I need to do everything I can to keep them protected at our house and especially out by the pool. Does anyone have any really god pool safety tips they’d like to share?

The Apprentice is My Favorite Show

Posted by Darwin Garza

Reality television has been around for quite some time. It is no longer a fad. As with rap music, this is a trend that is around for the long haul. It is just too easy to make and too fun to watch. However, some reality shows are better than others. I think my favorite reality show is the best thing that has ever been on television. This show is called The Apprentice.

The Apprentice has been on television for a few years. It is a show that takes business people and gives them a shot at becoming the apprentice to DirecTV popular packages.

The Apprentice works because it is about real world issues. People compete for jobs like this every day, but most people do not get to see what it reslly takes to succeed in the business world. This is the one show that lets people look into the New York business world and see how cool it is.

Green Technology Is Creating Jobs In The Midwest

Posted by Wilburn Berg

You want to be able to find a company that can create all kinds of green technology in your state. ENERGYSAVINGS.com can end up saving you money on energy costs in your home. The state of Iowa happens to be one of the world leaders in the production of wind energy. Wind energy is something that can take a lot of money to produce in certain situations. Iowa happens to have companies within the state that happen to make all three aspects of a windmill. The state is very proud of this and thankful for the jobs that green technology can create within the state.

The government is indeed happy with the revenue that can be created from these green technology jobs. You can see new roads being built because of the revenue created from these jobs. The new roads happen to make things easier for companies who want to create green technology companies. The hope is that people are going to be driving hybrids and other kind of clean fuel inspired cars. You can grow to make a lot of good decisions that will make you money in the long run when it comes to green technology. If you happen to invest money in some of these green technology companies, you can make a fair amount of money off of your investments.

Gone Skiing

Guest post from: Constance Rodgers

And it’s that time again! Finally…powder. I couldn’t believe it when I woke up this morning and turned on the weather channel. I’d been waiting for the perfect day to play hooky from the office. And this was it. I barely remembered to feed Rufus as I made a mad dash through the house, my cell phone attached to my ear. I finally got Jamie out of bed and had her call Samantha. It was gonna be a glorious day on the slopes. The sun was shining and the air was cold. It was one of those days that just doesn’t come that often, and I for one, intended to spend it getting chapped cheeks and feeling the excitement only felt by pitting yourself against a hard run.

I did finally remember to feed poor Rufus. Him giving me that classic puppy eyed look as I shoved my gear into the car. I knew traffic on 1-170 was going to be a bit tricky. I couldnâset my home securtiy alarm from ALLHOMESECURITY

My Big Adventure

Guest post of the week by Nestor Nielsen

I had hoped to get up early and hit the local Walmart to find the best deal on a large screen televison for my husband, however, I didn't quite make that early call. Knowing most of the bargins have been snatched up hours ago, I'm going anyway. Black Friday, actually sends shrivers of terror through my body, but anything for my husband. The store is so crowed, out of the corner of my eye I spot it, the perfect televison. Can I get there in time, looks like the last one, everyone out of my way, it's mine. I sure did myself proud, doing the 50 yard dash in no time flat. Wrapping myself around that big box, I thought, how do I get it home, it's so big and my car is so small. I need to find an employee and have them hold it until I can get my neighbor to pick it up in his truck. No way am I leaving this box and after several minutes of yelling "can I get some help here," a frazzled employee came to my rescue. After stopping at the neighbor's, I head home. A cold drink, a snack and telling my husband what a boring day I had, I curl up and watch my satellite tv from www.directstartv.com and think how it will look on that big, big screen.

We Love On Demand TV

This guest post from Marion Moses

With my crazy and busy life sometimes it seems that their is little time to be spent with my family. It seems like day after day we get up, go to work or school, come home and do stuff around the house, and then its time to eat and go to bed. One my family's favorite thing to do is to go to the movies but it seems that we hardly ever have time to do that anymore. It's thanks to watching free tv on our own demand that we have found a way to spend time together again. We now have three nights a week that we all join together in the living room and pick out one of the available movies that are showing on our on demand satellite tv from http://www.tvbydirect.com/index.html and watch the movie. It feels good to actually have something that we all do together again, even though it's not the same as going to the movies it sure is more convenient because each week it differs on what night we can watch the movies.

Watching Movies on Demand

Thanks for the post from Deborah Kline

Watching movies is something that my family and I love to do. What's great is that we are able to watch movies on demand via direct tv packages premier. One of the best things that we enjoy about watching movies on demand is that we are able to pick out of a broad amount of movies from the comfort of our own home.

Most of the time we'll plan to watch a movie night once a week and go through the movies that are available on demand and vote on what movie to watch. Once we decide on a movie we'll decide what kind of snack items we'd like to eat while watching the movie. Normally we'll have a variety of different items to snack on like apples and peanut butter, nachos, pop corn, m&ms, hot tamales, and sometimes even pizza.

Movies that we tend to watch as a family are made for families such as: Alvin and the Chipmunks, Bolt, Furry Vengeance, the Last Song, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Marmaduke.

Sometimes the husband and I will have a nice date night in and rent a movie for us to watch after the kids go to bed. We like all kinds of movies that on demand has to offer in all categories of chick flick, action, comedy, and horror. The last movie that the hubs and I watched was Robin Hood with Russell Crowe. We popped up some popcorn and threw in some peanut m&ms and kicked back to relax.
I always recommend movies on demand because the convenience itself is such a big bonus. Try it out and see for yourself! You'll probably never go back to a movie store.

Eating At Chuck E. Cheese's

Contribution by Elmo Farmer

It may sound weird but one of my favorite places to eat out is Chuck E. Cheese's. The actually have really good sandwiches and pizza that the kids could enjoy. I love the atmosphere at this place because we could enjoy a night of family fun. The kids could be as rowdy as they want and play when they are done eating. They also eat their dinner much better then at home since they know they will be able to play once they are done.

We always have the same routine when we plan to go to Chuck E. Cheese's. We make sure our home security alarm is set, round the kids up in the car, and are on our way. We don't even have to get dressed up as it is such a casual atmosphere.

I have to admit that I also love to play the games after a nice dinner. I have the option of sitting down and watching the kids enjoy themselves or joining in on the fun. I usually end up playing a few games and then cashing out at the end of the night. We collect all of our tickets and get the kids out of there by getting their prizes. They can take toys home to remember a fun night. It is surely one great way to spend a family fun night with dinner included! The kids always yell, "We love it HERE!"
